OUR LOVE STORY

We first crossed paths in August of 2015. Zach was an incoming freshman at Ohio State, and him and some of his classmates had been invited to the dining hall by their orientation leader and their friends. Little did he know, Dom would be one of those friends. The entire dinner, Dom picked on Zach — roasting his clothes and his Arkansas accent to start. The following week, they'd see each other again at rehearsal for the African American Voices Gospel Choir. Dom walked up to Zach and said, "Oh, I didn't know you played piano!" Zach responded by saying, "You didn't ask, you were too busy calling me Arkansas." And thus, the banter was born.

We slowly created a friendship that neither one of us expected, and our involvements on campus kept us in each other's circles. Outside of the choir, we were both students in the School of Communication, interns with Big Ten Network, and members of Black greek letter organizations (to name a few). For the next couple of years, things stayed platonic between us until one night at the bar, when Zach gained some "liquid courage" and — with no previous context to the conversation — told Dom, "Well, you know I used to have feelings for you." Dom froze, and for the rest of the night would only say, "Why didn't you tell me?"

Fast forward to later that summer in 2017, Zach would "formally" shoot his shot, and we'd go on our first date. We'd officially start dating in October (wink).

Dom would graduate in 2018 and start her big girl job with CBS Sports in New York City, leaving Zach in Columbus to finish his last year of school and eventually move to Indianapolis for his first job out of college. We had never imagined a long distance relationship, but our careers were too important to us not to at least take the leap. Although we'd end up being apart for 3 years, long distance would unlock a new passion for us — traveling. Whether it was starting our tradition of spending New Years in a different city, or jetting off for holidays like Valentine's Day and Memorial Day, planning trips gave us something to look forward to (and a break from FaceTime).

After a lot of prayers, savings, and COVID-19 vaccines, we'd finally get our wish when Zach moved to New York City in 2021 — putting us in the same city since 2018. Even though we had spent a lot of time traveling, it was such a blessing to now have each other for little things like rooftop parties, movie dates, or just sitting on the couch next to each other. With Dom getting ready to start graduate school at The New School and Zach gearing up for his dream job at Spotify, it started to feel like we could really go the distance.

Time started to fly, and before we knew it, 2023 was upon us. Dom was coming off of an incredible year and Zach wanted to plan a summer vacation to celebrate it all — from her recent promotion, to earning her Masters degree, and her upcoming 28th birthday (not to mention her Emmy nomination from the year before). We decided to island hop in Greece, starting in Athens, bopping to Mykonos, and ending in Santorini. Towards the end of the trip, Zach told Dom that we were going to a sunset bar and that we were going to take her birthday pictures there. Unbeknownst to Dom, when we arrived, Zach had planned a secret proposal, taking her to a path of roses that led to photos of the relationship throughout the years, overlooking the caldera of the Aegean Sea in Santorini. Obviously...Dom said yes.

Now, after almost 8 years of dating and 10 years of knowing each other, we finally get to tie the knot! We're so excited to celebrate our union on the east coast with our closest friends and family members, and reminisce on how our love story first began. ❤️

FAQ

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP before August 15!

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?

Please RSVP online directly on the site under the 'RSVP' section. You will not need to mail in a separate RSVP card.

Are we allowed to bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a firm guest list and our celebration will be strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Are kids welcome?

The wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the little ones at home so that you can celebrate with us.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Pop out! We'd love for guests to wear their favorite autumn shades as we usher in the season. The dress code for our wedding is formal/black-tie optional.

Additionally, please avoid wearing shades of burgundy/wine, mauve, gold, and white.

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues? Are they wheelchair accessible?

All wedding activities will be hosted at The Mansion on Main Street — 3000 Main St, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043. This includes the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

The entire venue is wheelchair accessible.

What is the easiest way to get to and from the wedding venue(s)?

At this time, transportation will only be provided for the wedding party and immediate family members. We recommend getting to and from the venue via car.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony will be outdoors at The French Gardens. The cocktail hour and reception will be indoors on the second and third floors, respectively.

In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will instead be held at the indoor Pavilion — also on site at the wedding venue.

What is the wedding day itinerary? Should I arrive at a particular time?

In anticipation of rush hour traffic, please plan to arrive at the venue no later than 4:00 PM! We'd like to have all guests present and seated by then to ensure a prompt 4:30 PM start time. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

The day will go as follows:

Ceremony — 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Cocktail Hour — 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Reception — 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

More information on the day can be found in 'The Wedding' section of the website.

Am I allowed to take photos at the wedding?

We ask that guests do not pull out their phones to take photos at the ceremony, as we're planning for an unplugged wedding ceremony. We hope that this will prevent guests from being distracted by their devices and allow our photographer + videographer to get the best possible shots without the interference of other flashes or mobile screens.

Once we're ready to make our ceremony exit, snap away!

Is there parking available near the wedding venue(s)?

There will be plenty of parking options at the venue, including valet parking that will be free of charge!

If you plan to consume any alcohol, we highly encourage you to plan ahead, such as exploring rideshare options (e.g., Uber, Lyft).

Will there be reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Yes! We have reserved room blocks at two hotels for out-of-town guests — The Westin Mount Laurel and the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Mt. Laurel. Both hotels are less than 15 minutes from the wedding venue.

You can find more information on the room blocks in the 'Travel & Hotel' section of the website, or book directly at the links below.
